He was a high school football coach when he started his professional career. After meeting a film director by happenstance, he went into the entertainment business. He has appeared in television programmes like Treme and The Big Easy. After attending a private high school in Louisiana and graduating from Louisiana State University, he decided to pursue a career as a high school football coach in Baton Rouge.
